SKY DRYSDALE - POSITIVE MORNINGS START HERE! |
MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY 6-10AM
Sky Drysdale is a native of Illinois. He was raised in St. Louis, his father a fulltime minister. In 1983 he landed his first radio job, which took him to Galesburg, Illinois. From there he went to Beaumont, Texas and arrived in Rockford in the mid 80’s, playing country music. Sky moved to into classic rock radio in 1988 and stayed with that format for the next 19 years. During his stint there, Sky founded his "Sky's Guys" campaign, raising money to purchase Christmas presents for physically and sexually abused children, as well as kids with troubled pasts. To date, over $100,000.00 has been collected for the young people he nicknamed "Sky's Guys". As an avid fisherman and hunter, Sky is also the founder of The Rock River Katfish Kaper, the world's largest catfish tournament, according to In-Fisherman's CATFISH INSIDER magazine. This annual tournament attracted over 1,000 anglers. Outside of the radio station, Sky's first-love is spending time with his wife, Joy, and their two children: Nicholas and Sinclair. And, . . . in case you are wondering, . . . his real name is Sky Drysdale! He was named after the 1950's television character Sky King. |

COPPELIA - YOUR MID-DAY FUN GIRL! |
MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY 10AM - 2PM
As mystifying as she is engaging, Coppelia gets as big a kick out of playing Tetris on her cell phone as she does reading a C.S. Lewis book on theology. She credits her introspective, classical pianist dad and let’s-have-a-party mom for her ability to chat her way through a room as easily as she soaked up every word during her semester in seminary and debated court cases during a year studying law. Wide-eyed and perky, it’s no surprise that Coppelia leads worship at her church on Sundays or that she enjoys so many other creative hobbies. Her laugh is contagious and so is her enthusiasm. No doubt, if you listen to her on 101QFL for long, you’ll hear her say one of her favorite words, “Woo Hoo!” Coppelia’s passion for life stems from knowing how much God has blessed her. Just before leaving her job at a Christian station in Puerto Rico, her and her husband, Adam, got knocked off their feet. Adam was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Because their new life was shaky, Coppelia kept her eyes steady on God, looking to Him for support and guidance. He gave her a scripture, telling her that although she couldn’t see it now, He would bless her over and over again. Soon after that, Adam recovered and Coppelia found out she was going to have a baby. She landed her dream job in Christian radio here in the US, and ever since then, life is good! And since Coppelia knows she has God to thank for it, she’s eager to share the news with her listeners every day! Email me at

SUSAN TYLER - YOUR AFTERNOON ENERGY BOOST! |
|

MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY 2 - 6PMHey Rockford! It’s great to be back playing Christian music again. At the young age of 13 I knew that I wanted to be in radio, and that dream was born while listening to QFL for hours to win, back then, Twila Paris’s “Kingdom Seekers” album. Yes I said Album! I had the wonderful fortune to growing up in a time of 8-tracks, records, cassettes, and CD’s. I’ve been in radio now 10 years, and started out part-time on the weekends on Radio91. In fact my first day on the job was January1, 2000. There was a terrible rumor that Y2K would crash all computers that day and the station would go off the air. As we all know, that never came true. Before coming to 101QFL, I spent 2 years as a morning drive DJ in Rochelle, IL. Except for a season in Chattanooga, I’ve lived in Northern IL most of my life. I’m the youngest of 3 sisters. I have 2 nieces and 4 nephews, and loving parents who still live in the same home I grew up in. I’m also the proud owner of a very needy long-haired cat named Miss Millie! I enjoy cooking, but hate grocery shopping, even when I have a list. My vices are dark chocolate... The darker and more bitter the better! ...and fountain Cokes from McDonald’s. Oh and coffee too ...heavy on the foo-foo cream!I’m a huge fan of old movies. A Turner Classic Movies (TCM) junkie :) My favorite actors from the past are Cary Grant, Gary Cooper, Errol Flynn, Bing Crosby, Vivian Leigh, Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert, Barbara Stanwick, etc. Of course I love any chick flick movie: My favorites are “Return To me”, “You’ve got Mail” and “Sleepless in Seattle.” You’ll find me glued to the TV when Survivor, Biggest Loser, and American Idol are in full swing. I tend to be a reality show junkie too including: Tough Love 1 & 2, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Say yes to the Dress, and What Not To Wear. For news nothing tops Fox News, and of course, The O’Reilly Factor! And I love Guy Fieri “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives”, “Cake Boss”, and “Ace of Cakes.” The Food network was a wonderful idea. I’ve always wanted to be on a cooking show. I’d make my specialty, fish tacos, and my angel hair pasta with chicken, tomatoes, and mushrooms creation!Well I guess you now know a little bit more about me. Tune-in weekdays at 2pm until 6 and you’ll find out more of my funny quirky ways! Oh, and…Thanks for letting me be a part of your afternoons. I look forward to being that bright spot in your day! JB - END YOUR POSITIVE DAY RIGHT! |
MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY 6-10PM
Born in Sacramento, I'm really a Southern boy at heart. My family roots, and most of my upbringing, lie in a few small towns scattered around Alabama. I decided to jump into radio after taking a couple of classes on the history of radio while in college. I spent much of my early radio career in Country music, and was one of the few who was backstage at Garth Brooks' 500,000 person free concert in Central Park. I am a man of simple tastes. I love my kids, Alabama Crimson Tide football (Roll Tide!!!), and mexican food.....escpecially Carne en su Jugo. It's really good... just Google it. And working in Christian radio, for me, is a blast every day! I'm so glad to be a part of the 101QFL team, and to be a part of your day every evening! Email me at
