SUSAN TYLER'S BIO: It’s great to be back in Rockford broadcasting and playing Christian music again. At the young age of 13 I knew that I wanted to be in radio, and that dream was born in my heart after I was listening to WQFL by the hours to win Twila Paris’s “Kingdom Seekers” album. Yes I said Album. I had the wonderful fortune of growing up in a time of 8-tracks, records, cassettes, and CD’s. I’ve been in radio for over 10 years. I started out part-time on the weekends with the Christian radio station WGSL. In fact my first day on the job was the first evening in the year 2000. There was a terrible rumor when I began that Y2K would wipe all computers and that included radio. But as we all know that rumor never came true. Before coming to WQFL I had worked the past 2 years at a Rock-Mix as the morning drive DJ in Rochelle, IL. I’ve lived in Northern IL most of my life accept for the time I worked in Chattanooga, TN. I’m the youngest of 3 sisters. I have 2 nieces and 4 nephews, and loving parents who still live in the same home I grew up in. I’m the proud owner of a very needy long haired cat named Miss Millie, enjoy cooking, but hate grocery shopping, even when I have a list. My vices are Dark chocolate (the darker and the more bitter it is the better I like it!) and Fountain Cokes from McDonald’s! Oh and coffee too! But it must have a lot of cream in it! I’m a huge Turner Classic Movies (TCM) channel Fan. I love old movies. Favorite actors from the past are Cary Grant, Gary Cooper, Errol Flynn, Bing Crosby, Vivian Leigh, Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert, Barbara Stanwick, etc. Of course I love any chick flick movie: my favorites “Return To me”, “You’ve got Mail”, “Sleepless in Seattle.” You’ll find me glued to the TV when Survivor, Biggest Loser, and American Idol Seasons are in full swing. I tend to be a reality show junkie including the shows: Tough Love 1 & 2, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Say yes to the Dress, and What Not To Wear. For news nothing tops the Fox News Channel and of course The O’Reilly Factor! And I love Guy Fieri “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives”, “Cake Boss”, and “Ace of Cakes.” The Food network was a wonderful idea. I’ve always wanted to be on a cooking show, I’ll make my specialty “Fish Tacos” and my angel hair pasta with chicken, tomatoes, and mushrooms creation! Well I guess know you know a little bit more about me now. Tune into me weekdays at 2Pm until 6PM and you’ll find out more of my funny quirky ways! Oh and By the way…Thanks for letting me be a part of your afternoons! I look forward into being that bright spot after your long day. |
